Residential service
A leaking disposal quietly ruins a cabinet. We replace units with properly supported mounts and check the drain arm and trap while we're under there.

Why it matters
A failed disposal disrupts the whole kitchen — and a leaking one quietly damages the cabinet and floor beneath it. Knowing whether the problem is a jam, a connection, or the unit itself keeps you from paying for a replacement you do not need, and a correctly installed disposal protects the kitchen drain from the clogs that poorly ground waste can cause.
With the power off, we determine whether the unit is jammed, has an electrical fault, or has failed — and check whether a leak comes from the body or a connection.
Jams are cleared and connections resealed; a cracked or corroded body is replaced with a properly sized unit, including a sound mounting and dishwasher connection.
We run the unit and check the kitchen drain downstream, so a new disposal is never installed on top of an unresolved clog.
A lodged object, power problem, or overloaded motor can stop a disposal. A unit that leaks through its body is a different issue from a leaking drain connection. Identifying the source helps avoid replacing a working unit when a connection or blockage is responsible.
A replacement needs a sound mounting connection and correctly connected drain piping. The dishwasher connection, if present, also needs attention. If the sink drains slowly after the unit is cleared, the obstruction may be downstream in the kitchen drain.
Turn the unit off and leave it off. Never put your hand inside the disposal. Clear the cabinet and tell the plumber whether the leak occurs constantly or only when water is running.
Avoid grease, bones, fibrous scraps, and large amounts of food. Use the disposal according to its instructions and keep foreign objects out of the sink opening.
FAQ
The motor may have power but be unable to turn because of a jam. Switch it off rather than repeatedly running it, which can overheat the motor.
A leaking connection may be repairable. A cracked or corroded disposal body generally points toward replacement.
Not if the blockage is farther down the line. The drain should be checked so a new unit is not installed over an unresolved clog.
